Product Description: A sterile, thin, flexible tube intended to be inserted into the peripheral vasculature of a patient to enable short-term (<30days) intravascular access; it is not intended to be advanced to the central vasculature. It typically includes dedicated accessories to facilitate catheter introduction/placement and function. It may be used for blood sampling, to administer fluids, Medication and/or for the injection of contrast media. This is a single-use device.
Intended Use:
I.V. Cannula is a device for access to the human circulatory system for introduction of fluids and/or withdrawal of blood samples. I.V. Cannula comprises of a short flexible plastic tube (the Catheter) made of PTFE /FEP /PUR, which is inserted into a vein over a hollow introducer needle, after which the needle is withdraw and discarded. The I.V. Cannula is used in aseptic environment. The use of the product is restricted to a qualified doctor or a paramedic.
