Information

ANBIOTEC celebrates its 15th anniversary this year and has been advocating for innovation in the national industry throughout its history. Its mission is to strengthen national production and innovation through innovative technologies and solutions developed in the country.

With over 70 members, including over 50 national industries and companies and over 20 partner members, formed by institutions and research centers, the ANBIOTEC Network has been growing throughout Brazil, with principles of ethics, safety and social responsibility, seeking innovative and sustainable solutions to face the challenges of the health and hospital chain in our country and bring a better quality of life and well-being to the Brazilian population.

The participating companies are mostly small and medium-sized and together have a turnover of over R$4 billion, 30% of which are exporters, duly regulated in the national and international markets, with a focus on the development and manufacturing of high-investment, value-added biotechnological products and inputs.

The Network's Associates deliver solutions in the areas of Human Health, Animal and Veterinary Health, Agribusiness and the Environment, operating in the markets of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD), Molecular Diagnostics, Genetics, Biotechnological Products and Inputs for industrial purposes and Innovative Medical Devices, such as Biomaterials, used in tissue, bone and cellular applications.

ANBIOTEC BRASIL supports its Associates in actions of representation and sector competitiveness, always seeking dialogue between all actors in the production chain, from startups to large companies. It works with actions to stimulate applied innovation, participating in Calls for Proposals and strategic projects with the support of national and international partners, among them, the financing agencies: FINEP (Financier of Studies and Projects), EMBRAPII (Brazilian Company for Research and Industrial Innovation) and BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development).

The entity also promotes business training activities and supports its Associates in participating in the main commercial events in the sector.

The exchange of information between the members of the Network, carried out through events, meetings and meetings in the Technical Committees, creates important partnership and business connections, generating the development of the Associates and consequently the development of the sector.

As a production chain, the greatest challenge is to make the Brazilian Biotechnology industry increasingly competitive in the global market, reducing technological dependence and aiming, in the near future, for greater sustainability through an increasingly national production process, generating more products and, consequently, more jobs, wealth and quality of life for the Brazilian population.

ANBIOTEC BRASIL defends with its Associates an increasingly safe and robust regulatory environment in the country, with national and international recognition, where decisions and approvals for the delivery of new products to society continue to be rigorously evaluated, complying with current regulatory standards. Thus, to ensure the safety, efficacy and quality of innovations developed and manufactured in the country, the Association collaborates and participates, with the support of its Associates, in Public Consultations with ANVISA (National Health Surveillance Agency), MAPA (Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock) and INMETRO (National Institute of Metrology, Quality and Technology), seeking to present and defend the Brazilian Biotechnology production chain.

ANBIOTEC BRASIL also defends the country's sovereignty, through the development and national manufacture of innovative products. To overcome this challenge, the Association relies on strategic partnerships with the main Brazilian institutes and research centers.

It contributes to national policy by acting as a member institution and advisor to technical committees and working groups with the: Ministry of Health (GECEIS); Ministry of Development, Industry, Commerce and Services (MDIC/CNDI); Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation (MCTI/Bioindustry Committee); Ministry of Finance (SUSEP).

It also participates as a member institution of the Civil Society Articulation Forum (FAS), according to SECTICS/MS ORDINANCE No. 48, OF SEPTEMBER 25, 2023, of the Ministry of Health, supporting us so that, in the coming years, we can supply national products to supply the Unified Health System (SUS).
